Admiral are currently recruiting an experienced Sous Chef for a very fast-paced Care Home kitchen based in North London (East Finchley).
This position is starting next week, initially for 4 weeks, with strong potential to become a full-time, permanent role for the right candidate.
This is a high-volume kitchen preparing approximately:
200 meals for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Service
The successful candidate must be confident managing large-scale service and leading a team of 20 in a busy environment.
Shift Times: Day Shift; Includes Weekends to (MUST BE FLEXIBLE) - in Rotation
To be considered for this role, you must have strong senior kitchen experience and be comfortable running a high-volume service.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven Sous Chef experience (essential)
Experience in a care home, healthcare, or large-scale catering environment (preferred)
Experience catering for high numbers (600 meals daily across services)
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, and health & safety regulations
Ability to remain calm and organised in a high-pressure kitchen
Professional, reliable, and proactive attitude
UK right to work
Proof of National Insurance
Ability to reliably travel to North London for early starts

Lead and manage the kitchen team across all services
Oversee preparation of approximately 600 meals daily (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
Ensure high-quality, nutritious meals are delivered consistently
Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and health & safety compliance
Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
Ensure efficient service in a fast-paced environment
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and professionalism
