Working Hours: 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Contract: 44-week term-time or 52-week full-year options

Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Evening Chef to join the catering team at a prestigious independent school in Oxfordshire. In this role, you'll work alongside the Head Chef to deliver nutritious, well-balanced meals for pupils and staff during the afternoon and evening service. You'll play a key part in maintaining excellent culinary standards, food safety, and smooth kitchen operations.

Main Duties

Prepare and serve high‑quality evening meals for students and staff.
Assist the Head Chef with menu development and daily kitchen tasks.
Lead and support the kitchen team during evening service.
Uphold strict food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures.
Monitor stock levels and help with ordering supplies.
Provide catering for special diets and school functions as required.

What We're Looking For

Experience as a Chef or Sous Chef, ideally within education, hospitality, or contract catering.
A passion for fresh, wholesome cooking and balanced menus.
Strong communication and organisational abilities.
Solid understanding of food safety and allergen management.
Confidence working independently during evening shifts.
Dependable, adaptable, and committed to high standards.

Contract Options

44 weeks (term‑time): Perfect for those who prefer school holiday breaks.
52 weeks (full year): Ideal for candidates seeking consistent, year‑round work.
