The Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and reliable Assistant Chef to join the culinary team at one of the South of England’s most prestigious private golf clubs. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated chef to work in a refined, professional kitchen environment with a strong emphasis on quality, consistency, and work–life balance.
The club prides itself on offering exceptional dining experiences to members and guests, ranging from clubhouse dining and bar menus to private functions and events.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard in line with the club’s reputation
* Assist with menu preparation, mise en place, and service across lunch, dinners, and events
* Maintain excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
* Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation consistency
* Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic stock control
* Work collaboratively as part of a professional and friendly kitchen team
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Assistant Chef (club, hotel, restaurant, or similar environment)
* A genuine passion for fresh, well-prepared food
* Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
* Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen best practices
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
* Able to work calmly and efficiently in a high-standard but supportive environment
